The colorPol^® IR 1550 BC4 T5 HT is the newest member of the colorPol^® HT family. Since the successful introduction of the colorPol^® HT (High Transmittance) polarizers in 2004, CODIXX continuous development activities in close collaboration with customers led to a variety of performance improvements.

With a thickness of 0.5 mm, the colorPol^® IR 1550 BC4 T5 HT provides the same excellent performance as the well proven previous members of the colorPol^® HT product family. The extinction ratio exceeds 40 dB (10,000:1) and the insertion loss undercuts 0.1 dB.

colorPol^® HT polarizers have been de­ve­loped especially for tele­com­mu­ni­cation applications. The filters offer unique transmittance properties of > 98 % (with AR coating) and the high contrast in the spectral range within 1,280 - 1,450 and 1,480 - 1,650 nm.

The new more common 0.5 mm version offers a higher mechanical stability and better processability. colorPol^® polarizers are customized available in various shapes and dimensions from 1x1 mm² up to a maximum size of 100 x 60 mm². Also standard mounts with diameters of 12.5, 12.7 (1/2”), 25.0 and 25.4 (1”) mm deliverable. 

Due to the unique halide free colorPol^® technology with embedded prolate silver nano particles in soda-lime glass, colorPol^® polarizers have polarization properties in the UV (340 – 420 nm), the visible and infrared range (430 – 3,000 nm).
High temperature stability until +400°C, resistance against harsh environmental conditions, the most chemicals and UV radiation as well as the easy handling are the basis for the versatility and multitude of applications of colorPol^® polarizers.

With the enhancement of the colorPol^® HT polarizer family by the colorPol^® IR 1550 BC4 T5 HT CODIXX is doing an important step to enter the future market of the optical communication.

Since Nd:YAG lasers with or without frequency doubling or tripling are very common in industrial and laboratory applications, versatile optics for all of the 3 wavelengths 1064 nm, 532 nm and 355 nm are expedient.

For this reason, CODIXX launches the new product colorPol^® Laserline Nd:YAG BC4.

This polarizer provides an extinction ratio of above 10,000:1 (40 dB) at all 3 wavelengths 1064 nm, 532 nm and 355 nm.

A very specialty is the polarization axis: The polarization for 532 nm  is on par with 1064 nm, the polarization of 355 nm is exactly perpendicular.

Despite this polarizer is an absorptive type, its high laser damage threshold of 10 W/cm² for continuous block allows the use for small and mid power applications.

The colorPol^® Laserline Nd:YAG BC4 is applicable as well for CW as for pulsed lasers.

Based on the unique colorPol^® technology for the doping of sodium silicate glass with prolate silver nanoparticles the glass polarizers have special characteristics. High temperature stability up to + 400° C, resistance against rough environmental influences, against the most chemicals and UV radiation as well as fading and the simple manufacturing bar are only some examples for this. Smallest dimensions and arbitrary customized forms are available up to a maximum size of 100 x 60 mm². In addition, the filters are obtainable in standard versions with diameters of 12.5 mm, 25.0 mm as well as 0.5 inches and 1 inches, respectively.

With this new product the CODIXX AG supplements its colorPol^® family with a product that can be used both for the UV range and for the visible and infrared range.

ANDRÉ VOLKE - NEW PLANT MANAGER NAMED FOR CODIXX AG's colorPol^® PRODUCTION

As of April 1, 2007, the responsibility for the manufacturing plant of colorPol^® polarizers has been given to André Volke.
His predecessor, Dr. Heine, had been in charge since 2001 and is now recently retired. Under the leadership of Dr. Heine, the development and completion of the manufacturing facility for the glass polarizers was successful.
Until his recent promotion, Mr. Volke, one of the founders of CODIXX AG, was Manager of Research & Development.  In his new role, he will take over the responsibility for the core business of the CODIXX AG, a dynamic growing company.
Based on high performance and flexibility of the colorPol^® polarizers, CODIXX AG owns a preferred market position. Under the direction of André Volke, a continual steep growth of the colorPol^® business can be expected for years to come.  
As a result, Marketing and Produc­tion will now become separate departments and will be staffed as the company grows. With these improvements, CODIXX AG will be strengthened and positioned positively in the market place for the anticipated growth of the company.
